The Photo Album of My Mind
by Jeanne Losey
The photo album of my mind,
Holds treasured thoughts of you,
And I can almost see again
The things we used to do.
I hear your voice, I see your smile,
I feel you close to me.
The photo album of my mind
Shows how we used to be.
Time may have changed us through the years,
But I will always find,
You're just as I remember in
The album of my mind.
And, as I turn page after page,
Such precious scenes I see,
The photo album of my mind
is very dear to me.
It holds the pictures of our past,
Like reels of film unwind.
I cherish all those photos in
The album of my mind.
Memories
They say memories are golden,
Well maybe that is true;
But we never wanted memories,
We only wanted you.
A million times we've needed you,
A million times we've cried.
If love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we love you still.
In our hearts you hold a special place
No one else could ever fill.
If tears could build a staircase,
And heartache build a lane,
We'd walk the path to Heaven
And bring you back again.
Our family chain is broken
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.
